How it works
Files

The Vault: files for every job

The Vault keeps the files from every Accmeet job. Each job gets a folder once a proposal is accepted, and every file either side sends in the job chat is filed there automatically. Accountants on Practice or Firm also get private storage, 2 GB or 20 GB, for their own reference files. Businesses see their folders under Files, free.

Files reach the other side only through the job chat. Nothing in the Vault is shared by a switch or a link.
01

What a folder holds

For the accountant
Three lists: files you shared, files your client shared, and personal reference files that only you can see. Only personal reference files count against storage.
For the business
Every file the accountant sent you in that job, in one place, ready to download.
02

Watermarked drafts

When an accountant sends a PDF in a job chat, they can choose to watermark it. Until the job is complete, the client downloads a copy stamped ACCMEET. Once the job is complete, the client gets the original. The accountant always has the original, and files a business sends are never watermarked.

On watermarked PDFs and on Word and Excel files an accountant sends, the client’s copy has hidden details such as author names removed. Originals are never changed, so a digitally signed document stays valid.

03

When the job is complete

The business gets one page listing every file the accountant sent in that job, as originals, each ready to download.

04

Tally files, on Firm

When the job’s accountant is on Firm, a Tally export or report shared in the job chat gets a short summary under it: what the file is, which company and period it covers, and anything that stands out, such as totals that do not match or months with no entries. Both sides see it. The business pays nothing for it.

05

File types and sizes

  • ZIP and RAR: up to 2 GB
  • PDF and Word: up to 200 MB
  • Excel and CSV: up to 100 MB
  • Images: up to 50 MB
  • Text files: up to 50 MB
  • Tally XML and JSON exports: up to 200 MB

Files always download to your device. If an accountant’s paid plan ends, their Vault stays readable: files can still be downloaded and deleted, but nothing new can be added. Deleting an account deletes its files.

06

What the Vault is not

  • Not shared beyond the job. Only the business and the accountant on a job can open its files.
  • Not accounting software. Tally summaries describe a file. They do not change it and give no advice.
  • Not a viewer. Files open on your own device, in the software you already use.
  • Not a backup of deleted messages. A file its sender deletes from the chat leaves both folders.
