Audits on Accmeet, within ICAI rules

Statutory audit and tax audit can only be signed by a practising Chartered Accountant. The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) does not allow its members to solicit clients, advertise their services, or share their fees with anyone outside the profession. So on Accmeet, audit work does not move the way other work does.

Audit jobs are never listed. Nobody pitches or bids for them. Nothing comes off the CA’s fee. The business pays Accmeet’s fee, on top.
01

If you need an audit

  • Post it as "CA only". Choose statutory audit or tax audit. Posting is free.
  • We invite one verified CA. Only CAs with a confirmed ICAI membership and an active Certificate of Practice are invited. Your job is not shown to anyone else.
  • Talk before you decide. A CA who accepts opens a conversation with you. Accepting is not hiring.
  • One conversation at a time. You can invite another CA. Anyone else who accepts waits until you choose to talk to them.
  • Hire by paying a proposal. Your payment is held until the work is confirmed complete, as with every job on Accmeet.

Statutory audit. If your company has an auditor in the middle of their term, they must be removed through a special resolution first (Companies Act, 2013, section 140). Appointing the new auditor, and filing ADT-1, is your company’s own process; Accmeet only makes the introduction.

02

If you are a Chartered Accountant

  • You never pitch or compete. Audit jobs come to you as invitations. You accept or decline; there is nothing to bid on and nothing to advertise.
  • You can step back. You may withdraw from an audit any time before a proposal is paid. After that, the engagement stands.
  • Nothing comes off your fee. You receive the full agreed amount. Accmeet’s commission is charged to the business, on top, never to you and never as a share of your fee.
  • Who is invited. Verified CAs on the Firm plan. We invite on track record and responsiveness, and rotate so that work is spread fairly. No one is guaranteed invitations.
  • Your obligations stay yours. Independence, the limit on audits you may accept, and every other requirement of the ICAI Code of Ethics remain your responsibility.
03

What Accmeet does not do

  • List audit jobs on the open network, in search or in job alerts.
  • Let accountants bid, compete on price, or pay to be shown for audit work.
  • Put more than one CA in conversation about the same audit at once, or show quotes side by side.
  • Take any share of a CA’s audit fee.
  • Take part in, or stand in for, the appointment of an auditor.

The full terms are in our Terms and Conditions. Questions from the profession are welcome at support@accmeet.com.
